Her dedication at the care facility was remarkable. She worked earnestly, treated every resident with kindness, and grew deeply trusted by them. Her colleagues held her in high regard as well. Because of this, she rose steadily through the ranks.
Then, ten years after she first began working at the facility, an election was held to choose the next director. She won by an overwhelming number of votes and was selected to become the new head of the facility.
At the announcement ceremony, she spoke softly but clearly:
“I am truly grateful for the trust and support so many of you have given me. It means more to me than I can say. However, before I accept the position of director, I have one request. I would like to continue cleaning the hallways and the restrooms, just as I have always done. If that is acceptable to everyone, then I will humbly accept this role.”
When she finished speaking, the room erupted into warm applause.
And so, with everyone’s wholehearted approval, she became the new director of the facility.
